A Clutch Plate, also referred to as a clutch disc, is a part of the clutch housing in the torque converter that is used to engage or disengage the transmission from the engine. This allows the power from the engine to be transmitted to the transmission. When the clutch is engaged, the clutch plate is squeezed between the clutch piston and the friction discs, creating a direct mechanical linkage. Attributes: • Hardened to Rockwell C scale hardness of 30-40 HRC which increases the impact resistance and wear resistance • Provided with the external involute splines for effective power transmission Applications: A Clutch Plate is used in the torque converter clutch housing to transfer the torque or rotational motion along with the help of friction discs.
